Here are a few tips if you are experiencing issues with the mongo db. the following errors in MongoDB:


If your mongoDB is not working at all.

Your mongoDB service is not starting after repetitive attempts.


Step 1: If the Hotfix KB2731284 or later update is not installed, follow these steps.

Step 2: If your error message reads: old lock file: C:\mongodbtiger\data\db\mongod.lock. this probably means you experienced an unclean shutdown, and then issue mongod –repair command.

If the above steps don’t work, try: Start mongod /data/db with –repair

You can use your own database path of MongoDB, or run it like: start mongod with –repair
